PETALING JAYA: A fire broke out on the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) missile frigate KD Jebat while it was docked at the Lumut naval base here early today.
RMN chief Admiral Tan Sri Ahmad Kamarulzaman Ahmad Badaruddin said initial investigations revealed the fire broke out at a galley area while the Navy personnel were busy preparing "sahur".
"Together with a team of firemen from Lumut, the navy personnel managed to completely control the fire by 5am. The RMN has since set up an investigation board to identify the source of the fire and the losses incurred," he said adding no injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.
The KD Jebat is a missile frigate ship and which was commissioned by the RMN on Nov 10, 1999.
