PUTRAJAYA: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, are not allowed to leave the country as they are suspects of crimes, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today.
"I am not sure how many will be restricted, there is not only Najib and Rosmah but the Immigration Department has been informed that there are those who are not allowed to fly out," he said at a press conference today.
"Their passports have not been retracted… but if necessary, we will stop them from leaving."
Mahathir also revealed that the government was aware of the location of elusive businessman Low Teak Jho or more popularly known as Jho Low.
An official request to extradite him to the country had not been made, he said.
"I don't go around to catch people. There are agencies that are tasked to do that," he added.
