No student involvement in political gathering: JPNJ

JOHOR BARU: The Johor State Education Department (JPNJ) today said there was no involvement of form four and five students in the Muar district in the Barisan Nasional Youth and Puteri Machinery Gathering in Pagoh on Saturday.
JPNJ said in a statement that the department wanted to inform that the involvement of the students had not taken place as the Muar District Education Office had withdrawn the letter of directive instruction after realising the programme was political.
According to the statement, the Pontian Besar Religious School, as viralled through social media on the involvement of students in the same programme, was also not under the supervision of the department and the Ministry of Education, Malaysia.
"The Sinar Harian newspaper has published a news article titled Regrets at being a political tool on March 13, 2018 on the www.sinarharian.com.my portal on the involvement of schoolchildren in the opening ceremony of the BN Youth and Puteri Machinery Gathering.
"In this regard, the JPNJ would like to clarify that the Pontian Besar Religious School is not a school under the supervision of the JPNJ and the Ministry of Education. — Bernama
