Seventh store

MUJI Malaysia has opened its new store at Suria KLCC, one of the most premier and iconic shopping destinations in Kuala Lumpur. The seventh store is set to be the pre-eminent Muji store in Malaysia offering an exclusive embroidery service, amidst the wide assortment of minimalistic yet functional merchandise ranging from garment, household to food items.
Spanning around 7,800 sq ft, Muji Suria KLCC exudes a warm and relaxing ambience with interior and display fixtures made of natural materials such as wood, sand and metal. The new store showcases the latest fixtures from Japan including an embroidery station, round table for stamps and health & beauty items, and make up tester table.
Ryohin Keikaku Co Ltd director and general manager of South, West Asia and Oceania business division, Yuki Yamamoto said the introduction of the embroidery station in Malaysia is the first in Asean countries, alongside Japan and China.
At the station, you can customise selected fabric items purchased with Muji custom embroidery. With more than 200 designs to choose from, you can create a truly unique item for yourself or someone special with that extra touch by choosing your favourite designs or letterings ‒ something worth treasuring for a long time.
When asked about future plans, Yamamoto revealed that the brand is considering how to improve its service to catch up to its Singapore and Japan counterparts.
"We are already offering more than 3,000 items, and we are confident of introducing more. We are also looking at expanding and although expansion is good, we are not in a rush to do it. We have our strategised steps to introduce new products and services to our stores," he said.
Also present at the launch were Ryohin Keikaku Co Ltd executive officer Hiroto Oki, Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd CEO Andrew Brien, Minister Deputy Head of Mission of Embassy of Japan to Malaysia, Yoshinori Kodama and Muji Singapore Pte Ltd and Muji Malaysia Sdn Bhd managing director Miho Takagi.
