APMM rampas kapal bawa 150,000 liter petrol tanpa kebenaran

SANDAKAN: Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia (APMM) menahan lima lelaki serta merampas kapal membawa 150,000 liter minyak petrol tanpa kebenaran sah di perairan di sini pada Rabu lepas.

Pengarah Zon Maritim Sandakan Kepten Maritim Muhamad Suhairy Hussain berkata lima lelaki berumur antara 22 hingga 64 tahun bersama kapal tersebut ditahan pada 5.30 petang kira-kira 9.5 batu nautika dari barat laut Tanjung Bidara di perairan Sandakan.

“Anggota Maritim Malaysia yang menjalankan Op Sejahtera, Op PLUTO TIMUR, Op Khas Cegah PATI Utara sertanOp Tiris 3.0 di kawasan terbabit melihat sebuah kapal bergerak dalam keadaan mencurigakan dan kapal berkenaan ditahan bagi tujuan pemeriksaan.

“Hasil pemeriksaan dan penggeledahan mendapati kapal membawa minyak itu dikendalikan seorang tekong dan empat awak-awak, kesemua mereka memiliki dokumen diri sah dan dua daripada mereka merupakan warganegara Filipina,“ katanya dalam kenyataan di sini hari ini.

Bagaimanapun, beliau berkata hasil pemeriksaan lanjut mendapati kapal terbabit membawa muatan 150,000 liter minyak petrol tanpa sebarang kebenaran bertulis yang dipercayai melanggar peruntukan di bawah Akta Kawalan Bekalan 1961.

Dalam pada itu, Suhairy berkata tindakan tegas akan dikenakan terhadap mana-mana pihak yang cuba mengambil kesempatan mengaut keuntungan secara haram.

Beliau berkata orang awam yang mempunyai sebarang maklumat berkaitan kegiatan jenayah maritim atau kecemasan di laut boleh menyalurkannya dengan menghubungi Pusat Operasi Zon Maritim Sandakan di talian 089-229504 atau talian kecemasan 999.
