Harga benih padi disemak dari semasa ke semasa, pastikan kadar munasabah – Mohamad Sabu

TAPAH: Kerajaan akan menyemak harga benih padi sah (BPS) dari semasa ke semasa bagi memastikan ia berada pada kadar munasabah dan tidak membebankan pesawah.

Menteri Pertanian dan Keterjaminan Makanan Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu berkata kementeriannya sentiasa cakna dengan tuntutan komuniti yang terlibat dengan sektor keterjaminan makanan negara.

“Memang buat masa ini diturunkan RM2 (benih padi), saya harap petani kena terima dulu, saya juga harap semua pihak boleh bekerjasama kerana kalau mereka tidak bekerjasama kita tidak akan dapat mewujudkan kestabilan harga melibatkan barang-barang keperluan,“ katanya ketika ditemui pemberita pada Majlis Ramah Mesra Bersama Anggota Lembaga Pertubuhan Peladang (LPP) negeri di sini hari ini.

Turut hadir Pengerusi LPP Datuk Mahfuz Omar.

Kementerian Pertanian dan Keterjaminan Makanan (KPKM) pada Isnin memaklumkan harga kawalan maksimum BPS di bawah Insentif Benih Padi Sah diselaraskan kepada RM52 di peringkat borong dan RM56 bagi runcit per kampit 20 kilogram (kg) di Semenanjung Malaysia berkuat kuasa 15 April.

Walau bagaimanapun media melaporkan gesaan Pertubuhan Persaudaraan Pesawah Malaysia (PeSAWAH) agar kadar itu dikaji semula memandangkan penurunan sebanyak RM2 sekampit tidak memberi impak besar terhadap kos keseluruhan pesawah.

Sementara itu, Mohamad berkata harga santan kelapa yang secara umumnya telah mengalami sedikit penurunan pada Aidilfitri lepas dijangka stabil dalam masa sebulan lagi.

“Kita telah ambil (import) kelapa dari luar lebih sejuta biji dan akan ditambah dari semasa ke semasa, cuma ini musim perayaan, selepas ini ia akan kembali stabil (turun).
