Inspektor polis didakwa minta, terima rasuah

ALOR SETAR: Seorang anggota polis berpangkat Inspektor mengaku tidak bersalah di Mahkamah Sesyen di sini hari ini atas empat pertuduhan meminta dan menerima rasuah sebagai dorongan untuk tidak melaporkan penahanan seorang individu yang disyaki memiliki dadah, tiga tahun lepas.

Mohammad Kassim Mamas, 36, yang ketika itu bertugas di Bahagian Siasatan Jenayah, Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah (IPD) Bandar Baharu membuat pengakuan tersebut selepas pertuduhan dibacakan di hadapan Hakim M. Priscilla Hemamalini.

Mengikut pertuduhan pertama, tertuduh didakwa secara rasuah cuba memperoleh wang tunai RM20,000 daripada Mohd Firdaus Ahmad Yudin, 33, di dalam sebuah kereta jenis Proton Persona bertempat di Kampung Kenangan, Serdang, Bandar Baharu.

Bagi pertuduhan kedua, dia didakwa bersetuju menerima suapan wang tunai RM15,000 daripada Mohd Firdaus di dalam kereta berkenaan di Sungai Tengas, Serdang, Bandar Baharu.

Tertuduh juga didakwa memperoleh suapan wang tunai RM2,000 daripada Mohd Syahrul Hafiz Ahmad Yudin, 30, di dalam kenderaan berkenaan di Kampung Sungai Tengas.

Ketiga-tiga pertuduhan itu didakwa dilakukan kira-kira 10.15 malam, 10.30 malam dan 11 malam pada 21 Jun 2021.

Bagi pertuduhan keempat, Mohammad Kassim didakwa bersetuju menerima wang tunai RM7,000 daripada Mohd Firdaus melalui panggilan telefon di Sungai Petani kira-kira 5.40 petang, 22 Jun 2021.

Kesemua pertuduhan dibuat di bawah Seksyen 17(a) Akta Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) 2009 dan boleh dihukum mengikut Seksyen 24(1) akta sama yang memperuntukkan hukuman penjara maksimum 20 tahun dan denda tidak kurang daripada lima kali ganda jumlah atau nilai suapan atau RM10,000, mengikut mana-mana yang lebih tinggi.

Mahkamah kemudian membenarkan tertuduh diikat jamin RM10,000 bagi kesemua pertuduhan dan menetapkan 23 Julai depan sebagai tarikh sebutan semula kes dan serahan dokumen.

Pendakwaan dikendalikan Pegawai Pendakwa SPRM Mohd Zulfadli Azharudin sementara tertuduh diwakili peguam Burhanudeen Abdul Wahid dan Muhammad Adam Burhanuddeen.
