Malaysia-China meterai protokol baharu eksport sarang burung

Malaysia-China meterai protokol eksport EBN baharu, jamin akses pasaran jangka panjang untuk industri bernilai RM2.2 bilion setahun.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia dan China memeterai protokol baharu bagi eksport Sarang Burung Boleh Dimakan (EBN) hari ini.

Protokol ini menggantikan perjanjian 2012 dan 2016 serta mengukuhkan hubungan perdagangan pertanian antara kedua-dua negara.

Menteri Pertanian dan Keterjaminan Makanan Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu berkata langkah ini mengukuhkan semula kepercayaan China terhadap sistem kawal selia dan keselamatan makanan Malaysia.

“Malaysia kekal sebagai negara ASEAN pertama yang dibenarkan mengeksport sarang burung mentah, bersih dan tidak bersih ke China,” katanya.

Eksport EBN pernah dihentikan sementara pada akhir 2024 kerana kebimbangan penyakit ayam.

Tiada kes melibatkan burung walit dilaporkan dan eksport dibuka semula pada Januari lepas selepas perbincangan berasaskan sains.

Mohamad berkata akses pasaran jangka panjang untuk industri EBN negara semakin terjamin dengan protokol baharu ini.

Industri EBN kini bernilai RM2 bilion hingga RM2.2 bilion setahun dengan eksport ke China sahaja mencecah RM1.5 bilion.

Sistem MyWalet menjejak lebih 15,000 rumah walit bagi memastikan standard kualiti dan ketelusan dipatuhi.

Kerjasama ini memberikan manfaat besar kepada ribuan pengusaha dan pekerja industri.

Malaysia dan China sedang berbincang untuk membuka lebih banyak laluan eksport termasuk produk akuatik, unggas serta makanan haiwan.
