Penyanyi rap Nico meninggal dunia

KUALA LUMPUR: Penyanyi rap yang juga anggota kumpulan Nico G, Nico meninggal dunia dalam tidur di Kampung Baru di sini, sekitar 11 malam tadi.

Berita pemergian Nico atau nama sebenarnya Abdul Fashah Abdul Aziz, 52, disahkan anggota kumpulan Nico G, Affa ketika dihubungi Bernama hari ini.

“Nico tidak sedarkan diri selepas singgah di rumah rakannya di Kampung Baru. Allahyarham tidak bergerak ketika cuba dikejutan.

“Jenazah kini di Hospital Kuala Lumpur untuk bedah siasat,” katanya dan menambah punca kematian belum diketahui setakat ini, dengan keluarga mahu menunggu keputusan bedah siasat.

Affa berkata kali terakhir beliau berhubung dengan Allahyarham ialah kira-kira dua bulan lepas, kerana kesibukan kerja dan keluarga masing-masing.

Beliau berkata jenazah akan dibawa ke Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru untuk disolatkan sebelum dikebumikan di Tanah Perkuburan Islam Jalan Ampang di sini.

Sementara itu, Setiausaha Agung Seniman Hafiz Nafiah menyifatkan industri kreatif tanah air kehilangan seorang penyanyi sangat berbakat.

“Seniman amat berdukacita atas pemergian arwah. Kepimpinan tertinggi dan barisan exco Seniman mengucapkan takziah kepada ahli keluarga Allahyarham,” katanya.

Nico mencipta populariti bersama kumpulan Nico pada awal 1990-an yang turut dibarisi Affa dan Dino dengan antara lagu popular mereka ialah Inilah Nasibku pada 1993.

Trio itu bermula dengan album Buatan Los Angeles disusuli Realiti (1995) dan Alamak! (1996), serta kembali pada 2003 menerusi Ops Kecoh bersama ahli baharu, Ezad.

Selepas lama menyepi, mereka muncul semula dengan nama baharu, Nico G sebagai sebahagian usaha penjenamaan semula kumpulan itu.
