Sultan Mizan rasmi CEFORE pacu industri tenaga mampan negara

KUALA NERUS: Sultan Terengganu Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin berkenan merasmikan Pusat Tenaga Boleh Diperbaharui di Luar Pesisir (CEFORE) di Pantai Tok Jembal hari ini.

Pusat ini merupakan hasil kerjasama strategik antara Petronas dan Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT).

Sultanah Terengganu Sultanah Nur Zahirah yang juga Canselor UMT turut berangkat bersama ahli keluarga diraja yang lain.

Mereka disambut oleh Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar serta pimpinan Petronas dan UMT.

Naib Canselor UMT Prof Dr Mohd Zamri Ibrahim menyatakan lebih 100 komuniti nelayan sekitar telah mendapat manfaat daripada CEFORE.

Pusat ini merupakan model bersepadu pertama di Malaysia yang menggabungkan tenaga angin, solar dan ombak.

Tenaga yang dihasilkan disalurkan ke sistem storan berkapasiti 1.3 megawatt jam yang mampu menampung kira-kira 100 buah rumah.

Sejak mula beroperasi pada Jun lepas, CEFORE telah membekalkan elektrik kepada mesin penjana ais berkapasiti 800 hingga 1,000 kilogram sehari.

Ini membantu nelayan menyimpan hasil tangkapan mereka dengan lebih baik.

Projek yang bermula pada 2023 itu membuktikan kejayaan usahasama UMT dan Petronas dalam memberi manfaat langsung kepada penduduk setempat.

CEFORE juga membuka peluang akademik dengan kemasukan 40 pelajar pertama bagi Program Sarjana Muda Teknologi Tenaga Boleh Diperbaharui pada Oktober ini.

Universiti berharap pusat ini dapat berkembang dalam tempoh satu atau dua tahun untuk memanfaatkan lebih ramai komuniti.

Pengerusi Petronas Tan Sri Mohd Bakke Salleh berkata pengoperasian CEFORE mencerminkan komitmen syarikat terhadap pembangunan mampan.

Beliau menyifatkan projek ini sebagai pembuktian konsep tenaga boleh diperbaharui campuran dan hab penyelidikan.

Ini menandakan langkah besar ke arah masa depan tenaga negara yang mampan.

Dengan memanfaatkan kekayaan sumber Terengganu, Petronas membangunkan penyelesaian luar pesisir tenaga boleh diperbaharui secara berterusan.

Ini sekaligus memperlihatkan keupayaan Malaysia menghasilkan penyelesaian berimpak tinggi dalam sektor tenaga. – Bernama
