KUALA LUMPUR: Lii Hen Industries Bhd (Lii Hen) said the estimated capacity loss from the temporary closure of its subsidiaries in Muar, Johor, due to Covid-19 is at 3.5% of its total estimated annual output volume.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, it said the subsidiaries, namely EF Furniture Sdn Bhd, CT Haup Heng Sdn Bhd, Lii Hen Furniture Sdn Bhd, and Favourite Design Sdn Bhd are currently placed under quarantine and isolation after one employee had been infected by Covid-19 on Dec 23, 2020.
“The group has also taken an additional steps to temporarily suspend the operations of these subsidiaries until Jan 15.
“Subject to further directive from the relevant authorities, these subsidiaries are expected to resume operations in stages starting from Jan 16,“ it added.
Lii Hen said in its efforts to combat, contain and prevent further spread of the Covid-19 virus, the company had decided to voluntarily undergo Covid-19 full screening PCR test for all employees, both foreign and local, of all the subsidiaries involved. The screening exercise for about 2,700 workers of all the plant premises and corporate offices of these subsidiaries in Bukit Pasir, Muar, started on Jan 2 and is still ongoing. – Bernama
