T7 Global strengthens leadership with key appointments

KUALA LUMPUR: Energy solutions provider T7 Global Bhd announced key changes to its leadership team, with Tan Kay Zhuin being redesignated as an executive director, and Azman Yakim appointed as the group CEO.

Tan joined T7 Global in 2016 as head of offshore construction and maintenance, and was subsequently appointed group chief operating officer in 2018 and group CEO in 2022.

During his tenure, Tan has contributed significantly to the group’s operational and strategic development.

He oversaw the expansion of the group’s energy division, including the enhancement of its engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) services, maintenance, construction and modification (MCM) services, hookup and commissioning (HUC) services and well services capabilities, as well as the development of in-house offshore assets such as the hydraulic workover unit (HWU), drilling jack-up unit and mobile offshore production unit (MOPU).

Tan also led the group’s diversification into the industrial solutions segment, which includes activities in aerospace, security infrastructure and airport logistics.

These initiatives strengthened the group’s operational resilience and recurring income base, supporting a revenue compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 33.6% from 2022 to 2024 and a profit after tax CAGR of 49.6% over the same period.

Meanwhile, Azman Yakim brings more than 25 years of industry experience and has previously served in senior roles within Siemens, General Electric, Dresser-Rand and Emerson.

Azman joined T7 Global in 2019 as CEO of Tanjung Offshore Services Sdn Bhd and currently oversees the group’s energy division, covering operations across the upstream oil and gas value chain.

His experience in operational management, process optimisation and business transformation is expected to support the group’s continued focus on strengthening operational performance and enhancing value creation.

T7 Global executive chairman Tan Sri Dr Nik Norzrul Thani said this leadership change reflects the board’s commitment to ensuring effective stewardship and continuity as the group progresses into its next phase of development.

“The board acknowledges Tan’s contributions in shaping the group’s strategic direction and strengthening its core businesses.

“Azman’s industry experience and familiarity with the group’s operations will support a smooth transition and continued operational stability.

“The board remains focused on maintaining disciplined execution and delivering sustainable long-term value for shareholders,” he said in a statement.
