APMM tahan kapal kargo berlabuh tanpa kebenaran

IPOH: Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia (APMM) Perak menahan sebuah kapal kargo kerana berlabuh tanpa kebenaran di kedudukan kira-kira 13 batu nautika barat laut Pulau Jarak, pada 3.30 petang semalam.

Pengarah Maritim Malaysia Perak Kepten Mohamad Shukri Khotob berkata Kapal Maritim (KM) Gagah yang melaksanakan operasi rondaan telah mengesan kapal terbabit sedang melakukan aktiviti bersauh.

“Hasil pemeriksaan mendapati kapal kargo yang dikendalikan seorang nakhoda warga Mesir bersama 17 kru warga Filipina, dua warga Ukraine dan seorang kru Rusia gagal mengemukakan surat kebenaran bersauh daripada Pengarah Jabatan Laut Malaysia.

“Dua kru kapal dibawa ke Ibu Pejabat Maritim Negeri Perak dan kes disiasat mengikut Ordinan Perkapalan Saudagar 1952 iaitu bersauh tanpa kebenaran Pengarah Laut yang memperuntukkan denda tidak lebih RM100,000 atau penjara tidak lebih dua tahun atau kedua-duanya sekali, selain kesalahan gagal melaporkan ketibaan yang boleh dikenakan denda RM5,000,“ katanya dalam satu kenyataan hari ini.

Dalam kes berasingan pihaknya turut menahan sebuah vesel nelayan tempatan (VNT) yang didapati melanggar syarat sah lesen dengan menjalankan aktiviti perikanan di kawasan larangan.

“Hasil pemeriksaan lanjut mendapati dokumen pengenalan diri tiga awak-awak vesel warga Myanmar termasuk tekong adalah diragui.

“Kita telah buka siasatan di bawah Akta Perikanan 1985 dan Akta Imigresen 1959/63 dan merampas vesel, hasil serta peralatan menangkap ikan bagi tujuan siasatan lanjut oleh pegawai penyiasat APMM,“ katanya.
