Bekas wartawan Utusan Melayu Muhammad Basir selamat dikebumikan

KUALA LUMPUR: Jenazah bekas wartawan Utusan Melayu (M) Bhd Muhammad Basir Abu Bakar selamat dikebumikan di Tanah Perkuburan Islam Batu 10, Cheras di sini pada 12.30 tengah hari tadi.

Terdahulu, jenazah Allahyarham tiba di Masjid Taman Taming Jaya, di Balakong pada 9.37 pagi untuk dimandi dan disolatkan sebelum dibawa menaiki van jenazah ke tanah perkuburan berkenaan.

Pengebumian jenazah bekas wartawan berusia 45 tahun itu dihadiri oleh ahli keluarga dan sahabat handai termasuk rakan media.

Adik Allahyarham, Siti Salha Abu Bakar, 40, ketika ditemui berkata Allahyarham seorang abang yang sangat baik selain selalu memperjuangkan hak dan keperluan adik-adiknya serta rakan sekerja.

Beliau juga menzahirkan ucapan terima kasih kepada saudara mara dan sahabat yang hadir bagi membantu menguruskan jenazah dari awal hingga akhir.

“Alhamdulillah, semua urusan pengebumian arwah berjalan dengan lancar. Allahyarham pergi dengan aman. Anak-anak juga kuat walaupun sedih,” katanya.

Semalam, Siti Salha ketika dihubungi Bernama memaklumkan abangnya yang menghidap penyakit jantung meninggal dunia pada 6.45 petang di Hospital Sultan Idris Shah, Serdang akibat masalah kesihatan kronik.

Muhammad Basir meninggalkan tiga anak berusia 10 hingga 15 tahun manakala isterinya, Nor Azlina Jaafar, yang juga bekas jurufoto Kumpulan Utusan telah meninggal dunia pada 17 Okt 2023.

Allahyarham juga antara penerima bantuan Tabung Kasih@HAWANA yang disampaikan Menteri Komunikasi Fahmi Fadzil pada 14 April 2023.
