Lebih 350,000 pelajar di Perak terima bantuan awal persekolahan – Wong

IPOH: Sebanyak 354,540 pelajar daripada 1,101 sekolah rendah dan menengah di seluruh negeri ini menerima manfaat Bantuan Awal Persekolahan (BAP) melibatkan peruntukan lebih RM53.1 juta.

Timbalan Menteri Pendidikan Wong Kah Woh berkata peruntukan berkenaan disalurkan kepada 12 Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah (PPD) di Perak dengan setiap pelajar menerima RM150 tanpa mengira latar belakang pendapatan keluarga.

“Bermula hari ini, agihan BAP dilakukan pihak sekolah menggunakan kaedah serahan tunai kepada ibu bapa (sekolah rendah) atau ibu bapa atau murid (sekolah menengah), pengkreditan ke akaun bank murid atau pengkreditan ke akaun bank ibu bapa,“ katanya pada sidang media selepas Majlis Penyerahan Cek Cura BAP Peringkat Negeri Perak di Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Wan Hwa 1, dekat sini hari ini.

Turut hadir Timbalan Speaker Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Perak Jenny Choi Tsi Jen, Ahli Parlimen Gopeng Tan Kar Hing dan Pengarah Pendidikan Negeri Perak Safuan Raba’ai.

PPD Kinta Utara menerima RM14.1 juta meliputi 164 sekolah, PPD Larut Matang dan Selama (RM6.8 juta); Manjung (RM5.9 juta); Kerian (RM4.1 juta); Kuala Kangsar (RM4 juta); Kinta Selatan (RM3.8 juta); Perak Tengah dan Hulu Perak (RM2.6 juta); Batang Padang dan Hilir Perak masing-masing RM2.8 juta, Muallim (RM1.9 juta) dan Bagan Datuk RM1.4 juta.

Wong berkata pemberian BAP diperluaskan kepada pelajar tingkatan enam bermula sesi persekolahan 2025/2026 dan akan disalurkan ke sekolah pada bulan depan dengan 100,000 pelajar dianggarkan menerima bantuan itu melibatkan unjuran peruntukan sebanyak RM15 juta.

“Inisiatif itu juga membuktikan komitmen berterusan Kementerian Pendidikan untuk terus memperkasakan pendidikan selain untuk menggalakkan pelajar memilih pendidikan tingkatan enam, selepas Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM),“ katanya.
