Semua pihak perlu terlibat realisasikan AIR2040 – Fadillah

KUALA LUMPUR: Semua pihak diseru supaya terlibat dalam merealisasikan Pelan Hala Tuju Transformasi Air 2040 (AIR 2040) yang berpotensi untuk mentransformasi sektor air negara agar lebih lestari dan berdaya saing, selain berfungsi sebagai pemangkin pembangunan ekonomi.

Timbalan Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof berkata AIR2024 yang dilancar pada Oktober tahun lepas juga memberi penekanan kepada jaminan bekalan air berkualiti serta kemajuan dalam bidang sains, teknologi, inovasi, dan ekonomi.

Menerusi catatan di Facebook, beliau yang juga Menteri Peralihan Tenaga dan Transformasi Air berkata air merupakan sumber kehidupan yang amat berharga, menyokong keperluan asas manusia, kelestarian alam sekitar serta pembangunan sosioekonomi negara.

“Daripada kegunaan harian seperti minuman dan penyediaan makanan hinggalah ke sektor pertanian dan perindustrian, setiap titisan air memainkan peranan penting dalam memastikan kesejahteraan sejagat.

“Tanpa sumber air yang mencukupi, kehidupan tidak dapat berkembang secara harmoni, malah keseimbangan ekosistem turut terjejas,” katanya dalam catatan itu sempena Hari Air Sedunia, hari ini.

Fadillah berkata setiap titisan air amat bernilai dan perlu dimanfaatkan secara bijak kerana pembaziran bukan sahaja memberi kesan kepada kehidupan masa kini, tetapi juga mengancam kesejahteraan generasi akan datang.

“Sumber air bersih semakin berkurangan akibat pencemaran dan perubahan iklim, menjadikannya tanggungjawab bersama untuk mengurus sumber air secara cekap dan mampan.

“Ayuh, bersama-sama kita membina masa depan yang lebih mampan dengan memelihara sumber air untuk kesejahteraan Malaysia. Selamat Hari Air Sedunia 2025,” kata Fadillah.
