Tunku Mahkota Ismail persoal tindakan FIFA terhadap pemain warisan

KUALA LUMPUR: Persatuan Bola Sepak Malaysia telah mematuhi semua proses berkaitan kesahihan status tujuh pemain warisan Harimau Malaya.

Pemangku Sultan Johor Tunku Mahkota Ismail mempersoalkan tindakan Persekutuan Bola Sepak Antarabangsa yang mengambil tindakan terhadap pemain terbabit walaupun organisasi tersebut telah memberi kelulusan sebelum ini.

Baginda bertanya mengapa keputusan FIFA bertukar sekarang dan adakah terdapat entiti luar yang mempengaruhi keputusan tersebut.

Tunku Mahkota Ismail turut mempersoalkan kelajuan FIFA mengeluarkan keputusan biarpun proses rayuan belum selesai.

Selain itu baginda mengemukakan bukti kenyataan saksi daripada Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara bertarikh 19 September mengenai pemberian kewarganegaraan.

“Tak kan kita takut dan nak tunduk dengan individu-individu yang khuatir dengan kebangkitan Harimau Malaya,“ titah baginda.

Semalam FAM dan tujuh pemain naturalisasi kebangsaan dikenakan tindakan oleh Jawatankuasa Tatatertib FIFA kerana didapati melanggar Artikel 22 Kod Tatatertib FIFA.

Menurut kenyataan FIFA FAM didapati menyerahkan dokumen yang dipalsukan bagi mengesahkan kelayakan pemain.

Tujuh pemain terlibat ialah Gabriel Felipe Arrocha Facundo Tomas Garces Rodrigo Holgado Imanol Javier Machuca Joao Vitor Brandao Figueiredo Jon Irazabal Iraurgui serta Hector Alejandro Hevel Serrano.

FAM dikenakan denda CHF350,000 manakala setiap pemain didenda CHF2,000 dan digantung selama 12 bulan.

Walau bagaimanapun FAM akan mengemukakan rayuan terhadap keputusan FIFA berhubung hukuman dikenakan.
