Bollywood star Aamir Khan marries longtime partner Gauri Spratt in a private Mumbai ceremony, with simple wedding photos going viral
BOLLYWOOD superstar Aamir Khan married his girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, in an intimate ceremony at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai, on July 5.
The couple solemnised their marriage in a private ceremony at his residence. Gauri looked elegant in an ivory lehenga with lace detailing and jewellery, while Aamir wore a cream suit. Images from the wedding have since gone viral online.
Unlike many Bollywood weddings, there were no extravagant decorations, lavish venues, multiple outfit changes with matching jewellery, or lengthy guest lists featuring celebrities, billionaires and politicians. Instead, the couple opted for a simple and elegant ceremony.
Gauri, who is of Tamil-British heritage, has a seven-year-old son from her previous marriage and is reportedly from Bengaluru.
Aamir met Gauri through his cousin 25 years ago, and the two have remained friends ever since.
Previously, Aamir was married to Reena Dutta for 16 years, and they have two children, actor Junaid Khan and Ira Khan. He later married filmmaker Kiran Rao, with whom he has a son, Azad Rao Khan.
Aamir, whose film career spans more than four decades, has appeared in more than 100 films. He made his screen debut as a child actor in the 1973 film Yaadon Ki Baaraat before making his debut as a lead actor in the 1984 film Holi.
Among his most critically acclaimed films are Lagaan, which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film, Dangal, Taare Zameen Par. 3 Idiots, Raja Hindustani, Rang De Basanti, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Dil Chahta Hai, Rangeela and Fanaa, among many other blockbuster hits.
