Foreigners allegedly ‘gate-crash’ monorail to avoid fares

A Malaysian woman alleged that several foreigners avoided paying monorail fares in Kuala Lumpur by entering through an open gate.

SEVERAL foreigners were recently accused of avoiding monorail fare payments after they were allegedly seen bypassing the payment barrier.

“Go to another country, then play by their own rules.

“One of them held the gate open while the rest entered,” a Malaysian woman alleged on Threads.

The alleged incident reportedly took place at the Medan Tuanku Monorail Station.

The woman also claimed that station staff ignored the incident.

She further alleged that one of the foreigners “smirked” at her during the encounter.

The post triggered outrage online, with netizens pointing out the double standards Malaysians often face when travelling abroad, saying they do not receive the same level of respect from some foreigners in Malaysia.

“When we travel to other countries, we don’t behave like this, and we even follow the many rules imposed on us,” one user commented.
