M’sian calls out shopper for eating fruit in grocery store despite “Dilarang Mencuba” sign

“So sweet,” the woman reportedly said as she bit into the fruit, even as juice dripped from her mouth.

A Malaysian netizen has sparked discussion online after sharing an uncomfortable encounter at a supermarket involving shoppers who ignored a clear “no sampling” notice.

In a post shared by Threads user lepatpisang_600cc, the incident reportedly took place at an local grocery store, where a group of women were seen selecting oranges. While some were choosing fruit and taking photos, one allegedly peeled an orange and began eating it.

“So sweet,” the woman reportedly said, even as juice dripped from her mouth.

What made the situation more troubling, according to the netizen, was the presence of a clearly displayed notice in three languages stating that sampling was not allowed.

The netizen said she quietly reminded them, saying, “Sis, that’s haram to eat. This shop has already put up a ‘no sampling’ notice.”

The atmosphere reportedly changed instantly, with the women falling silent.
