M’sian offers RM60 transport payment for 22 days, netizens say it is too little

A Malaysian woman sparks backlash after offering just RM60 for a driver to send and drop her off at work for 22 days, leaving netizens shocked by the low rate.

A Malaysian woman was recently criticised after making a very low offer for transport to and from work.

“School van fees per month are RM250, sis. The most budget-friendly option would be to walk,” read the Threads post.

As transportation fees do not come cheap these days, netizens were unimpressed after the woman offered only RM60 for transport to and from work over 22 days.

According to a screenshot attached to the post, she required the driver to send and collect her from work five days a week, from Monday to Friday.

The timings were 7am for the trip to her workplace and 6pm for the return journey.

Users in the comments section shared a dose of reality about the cost of hiring a driver for such hours, noting that the amount would be far higher than RM60.

One commenter even did the math, calculating that each trip would amount to just RM1.36.

“RM60 only? Does she think this is the 2000s?” another quipped.

“This is insane. When I went to school back in 2007, my parents paid RM80 per month. That was nearly 20 years ago,” another shared.
