Woman’s phone drops as thief escapes with her telekung bag at Johor mall, sparking hilarious reactions from netizens.
A woman in Johor shared a shocking experience after her bag was stolen while she was at work in Lotus Seri Alam — and netizens can’t believe what the thief actually took.
CCTV footage on TikTok shows the man casually pulling the woman’s bag off a stool while she stood with her back turned — but she quickly realised what happened and ran after him as he tried to escape.

“A woman went through a frightening experience when her bag was stolen while she was at work at Lotus Seri Alam, Johor.
“CCTV footage showed the suspect circling the area twice before taking the bag.
“However, as the suspect fled, the victim’s phone fell out, and only her telekung bag was stolen.”
“May the culprit be given the awareness to change,” the post read.
Many netizens expressed sympathy and relief that the thief didn’t get away with anything valuable, while others found the situation oddly ironic — stealing a bag meant for prayers.
“Thank God, at least that man can perform his prayers using the telekung,” lan_nyalang one user wrote jokingly as the prayer garment is meant for women.
