Malcolm Todd releases new album for 2026, with ‘Do That Again’

Malcolm Todd releases second album following a successful debut two years ago

Now clearly stepping into the role of a fully formed pop star, Malcolm Todd has released his second full-length Do That Again, an album that threads classic pop songwriting through a modern R&B lens with humour and instinct as the meticulous detail to its production holds it all together.

Released by Columbia Records, Do That Again contains 13 new songs and the release was preceded by the singles Breathe and I Saw Your Face.

On the eve of the album’s release, Todd performed the latter live for the first time on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, along with Earrings from his 2024 mixtape Sweet Boy.

Do That Again comes after Malcolm’s self-titled debut album last year, which was his first entry on the Billboard 200 and peaked at #49 on the chart.

New life for Sweet Boy

Oddly enough, rather than Todd experiencing a renewed interest close to Do That Again’s release, it was his mixtape that saw a resurgence instead.

Though he introduced himself with Sweet Boy two years ago, the project has taken on a life of its own in recent weeks.

The RIAA Platinum-certified songs from the album, Earrings, Sweet Boy and Roommates have surged back into Spotify’s Top 100 simultaneously. At the time of writing, the songs are sitting at 294 million, 277 million and 246 million streams respectively.

First show to global stages

Three years ago, Todd had never played a show. Today, he has moved 100,000 tickets across three continents in a single touring cycle.

Last year, Malcolm completed his sold-out Wholesome Rockstar Tour, playing to packed rooms across three continents and sharpening the live presence that has become central to his rise.

Festival sets at Camp Flog Gnaw, Pitchfork Paris, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits brought that energy to bigger stages, with crowds singing back the songs that first built his fanbase online and on the road.

Malcolm will be performing at Outside Lands and Osheaga this year, with more tour dates to be announced soon.
