Vacations return with new single and Kuala Lumpur tour date
AUSTRALIAN indie rock band Vacations have announced its new album Pursuit of Anything, set for release on Oct 2.
The band also released the album’s lead single Holy Grail, along with its official music video.
Led by songwriter and vocalist Campbell Burns, Vacations also features bassist Jake Johnson, guitarist Nate Delizzotti and drummer Joseph Van Lier. The new record was written by the band and produced by Burns.

The album was mixed by Beatriz Artola, who has worked with Geese and Caamp.
Burns said Holy Grail came from a difficult band call during a period when Vacations were trying to make new music while dealing with the strain of constant touring.
“Holy Grail was based on a stressful Zoom call we had together as a band last year. We were in this period of wanting to write and record new material, but then also being stuck in a loop of unsustainable touring.”
“So many people I know have devoted their entire lives to music, and yet, at times it can feel as if you’re in pursuit of anything just to make it work for you,” he added.
Vacations will also bring its Holy Grail Tour to Asia in July, with stops in the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.
The Malaysian date is scheduled for July 5 at Voxlive in Kuala Lumpur. Other dates include July 3 at Music Museum in San Juan City, Philippines, July 6 at Foo Chow Building in Singapore and July 9 at Bengkel Hall, SCBD in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The band formed in 2016 and has since gained international attention through songs such as Young and Telephones. Young is certified gold in Canada, Australia and Poland, while Telephones is certified platinum in the United States.
Vacations have accumulated more than 1.5 billion streams worldwide and have built a following through live shows and online discovery.
