19 men charged with becoming members of “Geng Kabali” secret society

SEREMBAN: A total of 19 men were charged in the Sessions Court here today with becoming members of a secret society named “Geng Kabali”.

However, no plea was recorded after the charges were read out separately to them before judge Madihaj Harullah.

All of them, aged between 18 and 50, were charged with committing the offence by a road side at Batu 12 ½, Jalan Rantau-Siliau, in the Seremban district, between Feb 1 and Nov 27 last year.

They are R. Kamal Rajh, S. Ilangovan, L. Navinraj, S. Sivabalan S. Viven, TSG. Ravikumar or Ravikumar s/o Siva Ganesan), TSG. Kartik, K. Sarugunan, S. Prabu and G. Kartik Rajah, represented by lawyers V. Muniandy, P. Rajsurian, Pathiban, J. Dasene and Goh Chee Kian.

The other nine accused — S. S Subramaniam, SRC. Prakash Rao or Prakash Rao s/o Sri Rama Chandra, U. Kartik, B. Kalaiarasan, G. Yuganraj, K. Shahithar, G. Murali, G. Thanaselan and M. Puspalingam -- are not represented.

They faced an imprisonment for up to 20 years, if found guilty.
