KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a danger-level continuous rain warning for eight areas in Sarawak until Friday (Jan 31).
MetMalaysia said in a statement today that the eight areas are Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sarike (Meradong), Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah, Bintulu (Tatau and Bintulu) as well as Miri (Subis).
It also issued a severe-level continuous rain warning for the same period for several areas in Sarawak, namely Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei (Pakan, Sarikei and Julau), Sibu (Kanowit), Kapit (Song and Kapit), Bintulu (Sebauh) and Miri (Beluru, Miri and Marudi).
MetMalaysia has also issued a similar warning until Friday (Jan 31) for Sabah, involving Ranau, Kota Belud, Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan) as well as Kudat.
It also issued an alert-level continuous rain warning for several other areas in Sabah, namely the interiors of Keningau and Tambunan, Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran, Tawau (Lahad Datu) as well as Sandakan (Tongod).
