PETALING JAYA: Amanah election director Mohd Sany Hamzan has expressed hope that the current Parliament would be allowed to complete its full term, adding that this would provide the stability needed for the government to implement its policies effectively.

The Hulu Langat MP said fulfilling promises made to the rakyat requires time and continuity.

“A full parliamentary term would give the Unity government a fair opportunity to deliver on its commitments without unnecessary political disruptions.

“If we look at our country, almost every week there is a visit or engagement involving national leaders, especially world leaders. They do not come alone; they bring their Cabinet members and business figures.

“These visits are not just symbolic, they show how seriously the government is working,” he told theSun.

He also pointed to improving economic indicators, adding that the unemployment rate continues to decline and the ringgit is gradually strengthening.

Meanwhile, Bersatu Supreme Council member Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, who is now under suspension, claimed that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim may be reluctant to call an early general election due to rising economic uncertainty and unresolved issues within his administration.

“I believe PMX is afraid because both global and domestic economic conditions are becoming increasingly unstable. There are also major unresolved scandals involving his leadership that have not been answered clearly or satisfactorily.”

He said the Madani administration lacks a clear advantage or strong performance record to justify its continued mandate.

He also expressed confidence that Perikatan Nasional (PN), particularly PAS, would not only maintain its current support but likely gain additional parliamentary seats in the next general election.

“The momentum is with us. PAS especially would continue to grow its presence and PN as a whole is poised to make further gains.”

There has been growing speculation that GE16 could be called earlier than scheduled to coincide with upcoming state elections, particularly in Sabah next month, followed by state polls in Malacca and Johor later.

Aligning GE16 with the state polls would help streamline resources, reduce voter fatigue and lower costs.
