PETALING JAYA: Malaysians can now replace their MyKad with just a phone call now using MyPhone-In introduced by the National Registration Department (JPN).
According to a post on the department’s official Facebook page, the MyPhone-In is only applicable to Malaysians applying to replace their old or damaged MyKad.
Applicants can reach out to replace their MyKad at their designated hotline number (03-8880 8066) and is open from 8am to 5pm from Monday to Friday while break times are from 1pm to 2pm every Monday to Thursday while on Friday it is from 12.45pm to 2.15pm.
It is crucial to note that the registration and collection of the new MyKad will have to be done by the owner and not on behalf of anyone else. If the applicant is under 18 years old, they have to be accompanied their parent or legal guardian during the collection process.
Applicants have to take note that a registration fee of RM10 will be imposed and is to be paid upon collection at any Pejabat Cetakan Teragih (DPP). The replaced IC will be ready for collection within 30 minutes.
Furthermore, any changes in regards to one’s name, photo, address and religion is not allowed.
Besides that, applicants who fail to present their old MyKad when collecting their new MyKad will be charged for losing it. According to the JPN official website, the amount is based on how many times the card has been lost.
The process fee charged for the first time a Malaysian lost their MyKad will be RM100, second time will be RM300 and the third time onwards will be RM1,000 also charged with the RM10 application fee.
