BUKIT MERTAJAM: The public has been urged to cease spreading speculation that could interfere with police investigations into the murder of a mother and daughter in Kampung Sekolah Juru.
Penang police chief Datuk Azizee Ismail stated that police are conducting detailed investigations to identify the perpetrators and establish the murder motive.
“I also want to advise the public to stop speculating or spreading false information that could affect the investigation,” he said when contacted today.
The victims, Sariya Che Hin, 51, and her adopted daughter Nur Afrina Alisha Abdul Rahim, 11, were found in a grotesque condition inside a house in Kampung Sekolah Juru.
The woman’s body was discovered in the ground floor kitchen while her daughter’s body was recovered from the top floor of the rented house.
Three individuals including the victim’s 57-year-old husband and a Bangladeshi national have been remanded for investigations.
Azizee denied social media claims that the incident resulted from a love triangle.
He explained that the arrests were made to investigate the case from various angles under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. – Bernama
