Johor expects RM2.6 billion revenue this year, surpassing target

Johor’s revenue collection is projected to hit a record RM2.6 billion in 2024, exceeding its RM2 billion target, says Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

JOHOR BAHRU: Johor is projected to close 2024 with a record revenue collection of RM2.6 billion, surpassing its initial target of RM2 billion.

Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the state’s revenue had already reached RM2.5 billion as of this month.

“Originally we expected RM2 billion,” he said after a Bantuan Kasih Johor handover ceremony at his official residence in Saujana.

“Insya-Allah, based on yesterday’s report, Johor will close this year with a record RM2.6 billion.”

He stated the increased revenue would be returned to the people through various initiatives and development projects.

Onn Hafiz expressed hope that the state’s revenue collection could reach RM3 billion next year following this year’s performance.

He noted meetings with strategic partners showed very positive investment momentum for Johor.

The state is expected to achieve potential investments of RM110 billion by year-end, aided by the actively promoted Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone.

This amount successfully achieves the full-year target of RM100 billion, with RM91.1 billion recorded until the third quarter.

“With this kind of performance, next year I will give them higher KPIs,” he said, referring to the state government’s commitment to appreciate involved staff.
