BN candidate Rahmah Jan pledges better roads, water, electricity and internet coverage for Kemabong in seven-point development manifesto.
TENOM: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for Kemabong state seat, Datuk Rahmah Jan Sulaiman Khan has introduced a seven-point development agenda to ensure the area will continue to progress and prosper.
The Tenom UMNO division women’s chief has vowed to implement her agenda if she is elected as assemblyman during the 17th Sabah state election.
“I am focused on the seven cores in my manifesto for Kemabong – better roads, water and electricity supply and improved internet coverage. I will also apply to make Kemabong a full district.

“In addition, I want to have quality education for all, empower the rural economy, turn Kemabong into a new tourism hub as an economic catalyst and expand housing aid such as Rumah Mesra Rakyat (RMR) with the People’s Housing Programme,” she told Bernama recently.
Kemabong, about 185 kilometres (km) from Kota Kinabalu, is a town and sub district under the Tenom district in the interior of Sabah.
After several days of campaigning, Rahmah Jan said she received many complaints from the local community about bad road conditions, especially in the village areas and promised to solve the problem.
Based on the warm reception from the local community, she is convinced that she can win the seat even though she is facing a nine-cornered fight and is determined to keep on connecting with the public.
She pointed out her involvement with the residents in the constituency since 2016 has helped her understand their needs and aspirations, while the seven-point agenda is based on observations and direct feedback from the local community.
“That’s why I’m very grateful and thankful to the leadership for entrusting me as the BN candidate for Kemabong, and I intend to make the most of the opportunity.
“When I meet the villagers, some have told me they will vote for me as the BN candidate… because they say BN has helped them a lot in the past and they still need such aid,” she added.
Sabah voters will cast their ballots on Nov 29, with early voting taking place today.
