Trader charged with murder after fatal 4WD ramming

A 49-year-old trader faces a murder charge for allegedly ramming a 4WD into a motorcycle, killing the pillion rider in Kapar, Klang.

KLANG: A trader was charged with murder at the Magistrate’s Court here today for allegedly ramming a four-wheel drive vehicle into a motorcycle.

The incident in Kapar last week resulted in the death of the 33-year-old pillion rider.

R. Ganesalingam, 49, nodded after the charge was read before Magistrate A. Karthiyayini.

No plea was recorded as murder cases fall under the jurisdiction of the High Court.

He is accused of murdering K. Tinesh Kumar at the Taman Seri Kapar junction on March 5.

The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries the death penalty or up to 40 years’ imprisonment and whipping.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Nadia Syuhada Rosli prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.

The court set April 22 for mention pending the forensic report.
