Police arrest four men in Jasin for stealing durians and a motorcycle worth RM9,000 from an orchard in Bemban.
JASIN: Police arrested four men believed to be involved in a gang robbery involving the theft of durians and a motorcycle from an orchard, resulting in a loss of approximately RM9,000, near Anjung Gapam in Bemban here yesterday.
Jasin district police chief Superintendent Lee Robert said all the suspects, aged between 27 and 35, were arrested in four separate raids in Jasin, Central Melaka, and Masjid Tanah from 12.30 am to 7.30 am today.
The results of the interrogation found that two of the suspects admitted to being involved in the incident, with one of them admitting to brandishing a knife to scare the victim after realising the victim was taking pictures of the vehicle the suspects were in.
“Another suspect admitted to being involved in taking the stolen motorcycle meter, but did not admit to taking the durians or pointing a weapon at the victim,” he said in a statement here tonight.
Lee said another suspect did not admit to being involved in the incident, but was arrested after being positively identified by the complainant as the individual who stole the motorcycle belonging to the complainant’s father.
The police also seized three mobile phones, a Perodua Myvi car, a Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycle, and a folding knife believed to be connected to the case, he added.
