Woman, 20, robbed by naked intruder in KL apartment. Suspect with 12 prior offences arrested same day

PETALING JAYA: A young woman experienced a terrifying ordeal when an unclothed intruder entered her apartment and threatened her with a knife in Taman Sri Sentosa, in Old Klang Road on Friday afternoon.

The 20-year-old victim was hanging laundry at approximately 3pm when she heard her security grille door opening.

Initially thinking her housemate had returned home, she was shocked to discover a completely naked stranger who had entered through the unlocked yard area.

The woman attempted to flee, but the 27-year-old suspect attacked her, resulting in a violent altercation.

According to Brickfields district police chief Assistant Commissioner Hoo Chang Hook, the victim sustained injuries to her left thigh, lips and hand during the struggle.

“The suspect threatened to kill her and demanded money,” Hoo stated.

When the frightened victim tried to reach for her mobile phone to summon help, the intruder seized the device and fled the premises after she refused to provide her passcode.

Authorities initiated a search operation immediately after receiving the report, successfully locating and apprehending the suspect in Taman Sri Sentosa at approximately 7.12pm on the same day.

The arrest yielded several items including three mobile phones (one belonging to the victim), the victim’s backpack, a laptop computer, clothing items and footwear.

Police investigations uncovered that the arrested individual had an extensive criminal history, with 12 previous offences recorded alongside seven drug-related cases.

Laboratory analysis of the suspect’s urine sample returned positive results for cannabis.

“He admitted to being involved in several previous cases under Sections 394 and 380 of the Penal Code and claimed he resorted to robbery to pay for his daily expenses,” ACP Hoo explained.

Legal Proceedings
The suspect has been placed under remand for five days until November 13 to facilitate investigations under Section 394 of the Penal Code, which addresses voluntarily causing hurt whilst committing robbery.

The case highlights ongoing concerns about residential security and the importance of maintaining locked doors and grilles even when at home.
