Floodwaters recede in Kelantan, while Pahang and Terengganu see a drop in evacuees at relief centres as conditions improve
KUALA LUMPUR: The flood situation in Kelantan has fully recovered, with conditions improving in Pahang and Terengganu as the number of evacuees drops.
All four relief centres in Kuala Krai, Kelantan, were closed at 4 pm today.
In Pahang, the number of evacuees fell to 7,004 people from 2,373 families at 64 centres as of 4.30 pm.
This is a decrease from the 11,166 people from 3,677 families recorded at 68 centres this morning.
Kuantan district hosts the highest number with 6,225 evacuees at 42 centres.
Other affected districts include Pekan with 462 people, Jerantut with 121, Temerloh with 59, Bera with 60, Rompin with 42, and Maran with 35 evacuees.
Floodwaters have fully receded in Lipis, allowing all evacuees there to return home.
In Terengganu, 929 people from 245 families remain at three relief centres in Kemaman as of 5 pm.
This figure is down from 1,391 people from 369 families reported this morning.
Two relief centres in Dungun were closed at noon today after evacuees were allowed to return home.
