KL Monorail faced delays after a train stalled due to a power issue; passengers were safely evacuated and services resumed fully at 11.33am.
PETALING JAYA: Kuala Lumpur’s monorail commuters faced delays earlier today after a train stalled due to a technical disruption between the Medan Tuanku and Chow Kit stations.
“The incident, reported at 8:50am, involved a train numbered 25 that experienced a power supply disruption, causing it to stop between the Medan Tuanku and Titiwangsa stations.
“According to reports, a passenger fainted inside the train.
“The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department was at the scene to help evacuate the individual.
“Medical personnel also provided initial treatment before the passenger was taken home by family members,” Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd said in a statement.
“All other passengers were brought to the Medan Tuanku Station to continue their journeys.
“Rapid Rail’s engineering team acted promptly by towing the affected train to the depot for further inspection.
“Alternative train services and free shuttle buses have been discontinued, and train frequency is being restored in stages.
“Rapid Rail apologises for all inconveniences caused and deeply appreciates the patience and cooperation of all users,” the statement read.
It also confirmed that Monorail Line services fully resumed at 11.33am after recovery works were successfully completed.
