The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and Permodalan Nasional Berhad enhance their partnership to boost governance and investor confidence in the investment sector.
PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) and Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) have strengthened their strategic partnership to enhance governance and integrity in the investment sector.
In a statement today, MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman said integrity-driven governance is fundamental to ensuring investor confidence in PNB-managed investments.
“PNB must continue to uphold integrity and bolster investor trust in managing unit trust investments in this country,” he said.
The statement was issued following a courtesy visit by PNB Group president and chief executive officer Datuk Rizal Rickman Ramli to MACC’s headquarters today.
The visit also marked Rizal Rickman’s recent appointment as PNB Group president and chief executive officer, effective July 1.
Meanwhile, in the same statement, Rizal Rickman said PNB, established in 1978 as one of the instruments of the New Economic Policy, now manages investments on behalf of 13 million Malaysians.
“This means that one in three Malaysians is a PNB investor, and we must ensure that investor confidence remains consistently high,” he said.
He added that this commitment is demonstrated through PNB’s annual participation in the Corruption-Free Pledge, which forms a core component of the group’s Anti-Corruption Plan 2025–2028.
During the meeting, both parties also exchanged views on PNB’s investment procedures, shared experiences, discussed regulatory compliance, and held strategic deliberations on current issues to advance the anti-corruption agenda and integrity-driven governance.
Also present were MACC deputy chief commissioner (Prevention) Datuk Azmi Kamaruzaman and PNB board member Tan Sri Datuk Zainun Ali.
