Malaysia Airlines cancels flights to Doha, Jeddah and Madinah due to Middle East airspace closure, affecting routes on Feb 28 and Mar 1, 2026.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airlines has cancelled flights to three Middle Eastern destinations as a precautionary measure following the closure of regional airspace.

The airline suspended services between Kuala Lumpur and Doha, Jeddah, and Madinah on February 28 and March 1, 2026.

This decision was made amid escalating security developments in parts of the Middle East.

Affected passengers are being notified and assisted with alternative travel arrangements where required.

Flights to the impacted destinations will remain suspended pending a further security assessment.

“Affected passengers will be notified and are advised to update their contact details via ‘My Booking’ for timely updates,” the airline said in a statement.

Assistance is also available through the Malaysia Airlines Global Contact Centre.

The cancelled flights include MH160, MH156, and MH158 from Kuala Lumpur on February 28.

Return flights MH159 from Madinah and MH161 from Doha on the same date are also cancelled.

Services MH164/MH165 from Doha and MH157 from Jeddah on March 1 are similarly affected.

Meanwhile, flights to London and Paris are currently operating on schedule.

These long-haul services are using alternative routings via Afghanistan airspace.

The airline confirmed these flights are operating well clear of the affected conflict zone.
