A fire at a car manufacturer’s workshop in Sungai Buloh destroyed 51 vehicles, with the cause and total losses still under investigation.
SUNGAI BULOH: A major fire at a vehicle service and painting workshop destroyed 51 cars this afternoon.
The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 5.17 pm, with the first team arriving at the scene 16 minutes later.
The blaze involved a 200×200 square foot building owned by a local car manufacturer.
Firefighters from Sungai Buloh, Damansara, Rawang, Bukit Jelutong and Petaling Jaya stations were deployed to tackle the incident.
A total of 27 personnel using five fire engines and two water tankers brought the fire under control by 6.28 pm.
“The cause of the fire and the total amount of losses have not yet been determined,” said Selangor JBPM assistant operations director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar.
