Free entry to National Museum for Malaysians this weekend

Malaysian citizens get free entry to the National Museum in KL this Saturday and Sunday to celebrate the MADANI Government’s three-year anniversary.

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Museum will offer free entry to Malaysian citizens this Saturday and Sunday.

The Department of Museums Malaysia initiative is held in conjunction with the three-year anniversary of the MADANI Government administration.

It also celebrates the “Rancakkan MADANI Bersama Malaysiaku” programme.

The Ministry of National Unity said the move aims to encourage the public to deepen their understanding of national history.

It specifically hopes to attract young people and families to appreciate the heritage shaping Malaysia’s identity.

The National Museum features four main galleries showcasing the nation’s historical journey.

These cover the prehistoric era, the Malay sultanate period, colonialism, and modern development.

Visitors can refer to the museum’s official website for further information on galleries and exhibitions.

National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said understanding history is key to fostering unity.

He stated it strengthens national values and enhances the spirit of togetherness among Malaysians.

“Offering free entry would provide more opportunities for the public to reconnect with the country’s historical roots,” he said.

The National Museum is open to visitors from 9 am to 5 pm. – Bernama
