Deputy PM Ahmad Zahid says King’s address is brief but comprehensive, covering vital topics for parliamentary debate, including 42 rural initiatives.
KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi described the Royal Address by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim as concise yet comprehensive.
He said the address contained important matters that require attention from Members of Parliament.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also Rural and Regional Development Minister, noted the address was brief but loaded with messages for MPs to focus on.
“The most important things are included and there should not be disruptions,” he told reporters after the Parliament opening ceremony.
He said each ministry has specific policies and action plans for MPs to debate.
His ministry, KKDW, has planned 42 game-changing initiatives for implementation this year.
All these initiatives will be scrutinised by MPs through their research and debated in the session.
“All the main programmes that have been set will be implemented according to the ministry’s strategic planning,” he said.
He added these matters will be the focus of debate in Parliament.
