Malaysians urged to reject racial provocation and extremism

Minister Nga Kor Ming calls for unity, urging Malaysians to reject racial slander and religious extremism while highlighting media’s role in national harmony

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians must reject all forms of racial provocation and not be influenced by racially charged slander or religious extremism.

Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming said this while speaking at a Ramadan Iftar ceremony with media practitioners.

He stated that the MADANI Government remains committed to preserving community unity and harmony.

The government will not compromise with anyone attempting to disrupt public order through slander, incitement, or racist remarks.

“We must not be influenced by or respond to provocations from extremist groups with hidden agendas,” Nga said in a Facebook post.

He urged the public to let the authorities carry out investigations and act in accordance with the law.

Nga also highlighted the crucial role of the media in providing accurate and responsible information to the public.

The Iftar ceremony served as a platform to strengthen ties between the ministry and media practitioners.

It was also a reminder of the shared responsibility to uphold the nation’s harmony, unity, and peace.

Nga urged all Malaysians to stand united under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

This unity is needed to confront economic and political challenges arising from the ongoing crisis in West Asia.

“The country needs stability and peace to overcome these challenges,” he said.

He concluded that now is the time to uphold the spirit of unity for the nation’s future.
