Saarani stresses complaints must be genuine and from credible sources at Perak integrity and anti-corruption event
IPOH: Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad has stated that any report on misconduct or corruption involving public interest must be accurate and from credible sources.
He said some complaints submitted to authorities are incomplete and resemble poison-pen letters.
“The Perak state government has received complaints and forwarded them to the MACC, but some were merely anonymous letters,” he told reporters.
Saarani added that while a culture of lodging complaints is welcome, they must be genuine and sincere.
He stressed that complaints should not be made just because someone feels dissatisfied.
“We do not want such practices to proliferate,” he said.
He made these remarks after attending the 2026 Perak Integrity and Anti-Corruption Convention and the state-level launch of the Keep Malaysia Clean programme.
The event was held at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.
Saarani noted that 30 government departments and agencies participated in the KMC programme.
The initiative aims to strengthen integrity practices, particularly within the public sector.
