Police raid Bandar Perai Jaya premises, arrest 13 over immoral activities

Police arrested 13 men, including two foreigners, during a raid on a shop lot in Bandar Perai Jaya for suspected unnatural sexual activities

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Police have arrested 13 men during a raid on a three-storey shop lot in Bandar Perai Jaya over suspected immoral activities.

Seberang Perai Tengah police chief ACP Helmi Aris said the raid was conducted by the Criminal Investigation Division and Seberang Perai Municipal Council Licensing Department at 7 pm yesterday.

Eleven customers were arrested, comprising nine local men and two foreign nationals aged between 19 and 66 years.

Police also detained two local men, aged 57 and 59, who worked as the premises’ employee and owner.

Authorities seized condoms, lubricants, and other equipment related to immoral activities during the operation.

Mobile phones containing explicit video clips were also confiscated from the suspects.

Investigations revealed the premises operated on the second and third floors of the building.

“The premises had a rest area, a sauna, and small rooms used for immoral activities,” Helmi said in a statement today.

He confirmed these activities had been occurring for approximately two months before the raid.

Urine tests conducted on all arrested individuals returned negative for drug use.

One local man among those detained was found to have a previous criminal record.

All suspects have been remanded for six days until December 6 to assist with investigations.

The owner and worker face investigation under Sections 373/377B of the Penal Code for organizing unnatural sexual activities.

The 11 customers are being investigated under Section 377B for allegedly engaging in unnatural sex.

Seven customers also face investigation under Section 292 for possessing explicit material on their mobile phones.

The two foreign nationals are being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act for entering Malaysia without valid passes.

Helmi urged the public to report any information about immoral activities to assist police efforts. – Bernama
