Perlis Raja Muda Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra says halal certification boosts consumer confidence, strengthens brands and expands market opportunities.
PADANG BESAR: Halal certification can enhance consumer confidence, strengthen brand reputation and open wider market opportunities for entrepreneurs, said Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail.
He said the certification reflected entrepreneurs’ commitment to ensuring their products and services complied with Islamic requirements while meeting established quality, safety and hygiene standards
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra urged entrepreneurs in the state to seize the opportunity to obtain halal certification as a strategic move to strengthen business competitiveness.
“I would like to emphasise that halal certification should be embraced as an act of worship carried out with sincerity, and upheld as a responsibility that requires integrity and accountability,” he said when officiating the state-level T.A.A.T Zone Recognition Programme and Malaysia Halal Certification 2026 here today.
Also present was Raja Puan Muda of Perlis Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil.
He said the authorities should continue playing a proactive role in facilitating entrepreneurs’ efforts to encourage greater participation in halal certification applications, thereby strengthening the halal ecosystem in Perlis.
“I hope Perlis will continue to serve as an example in developing the country’s halal ecosystem. The T.A.A.T Zone campaign should help raise awareness among food premise operators to practise the values of Tayyibah, Amanah, ‘Afiyah and Taharah before applying for Malaysia Halal Certification,” he said.
