PM Anwar returns from successful three-nation Africa tour

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim concludes seven-day Africa visit, strengthening ties and expanding strategic cooperation through MADANI Diplomacy Mission.

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived home at 9.15 am today after completing a three-nation tour of Africa.

In a Facebook post, he said the MADANI Diplomacy Mission to the continent yielded significant outcomes, strengthening ties, opening new opportunities and expanding strategic cooperation.

“It is now time to translate these commitments and agreements into policies and actions that bring real benefits to the people and the nation,” he said.

Anwar departed Nairobi on a chartered Malaysia Airlines flight from the State Pavilion Terminal at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 7 pm local time yesterday (midnight Malaysian time).

The seven-day visit began in Ethiopia from Nov 18 to 20, continued in South Africa from Nov 20 to 23 for the G20 Leaders’ Summit, and concluded in Kenya from Nov 23 to 24.

He was accompanied by Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz; Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Zaliha Mustafa; senior officials; and a delegation of business leaders. – Bernama
