Bersatu divisions in Raub and Lipis dissolved over leadership crisis

Two Bersatu divisions in Pahang have dissolved their committees, citing a loss of trust and disappointment with the party’s national leadership

KUANTAN: The Raub and Lipis divisions of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) have officially dissolved their respective division committees.

Raub Bersatu chief Datuk Fakrunizam Ibrahim said the decision was made due to a loss of trust and respect for the party’s leadership.

“Therefore, the entire Raub Bersatu division committee has officially dissolved today,” he told Bernama.

The Lipis division, led by Nor Alias Ibrahim, announced the same step following a special meeting of its division and branches.

Nor Alias stated the decision was unanimous and stemmed from disappointment with the leadership of President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

“The turmoil that has been ongoing for almost a year is very disappointing,” he said.

He added that they believe the president has failed to control the ongoing turmoil or restore stability within the party.

This development follows Bersatu’s recent expulsion of 17 members, including several top leaders, four MPs, and two state assemblymen.

The expulsions were for violating the party’s constitution, though those affected retain the right to appeal within 14 days.

Nationwide, it has been reported that 22 Bersatu divisions have been dissolved amid the party’s ongoing leadership crisis.
