Barisan Nasional chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi calls for improved campaign efforts, acknowledging BN enters the Negeri Sembilan state election as the underdog.
SEREMBAN: Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi wants the machinery’s operations and BN’s campaign efforts for the Negeri Sembilan State Election (PRN) to be stepped up and refined.
Acknowledging that he is not yet satisfied with the momentum of the coalition’s machinery, Ahmad Zahid who is also UMNO President, said campaign efforts must be improved because BN enters the state election arena as the underdog.
In relation to this, he reminded the party machinery not to take the competition in the state lightly, even though BN already possesses extensive election experience.
He said this during a press conference after the Deputy Prime Minister’s Address Ceremony with KEMAS staff, here today.
Ahmad Zahid added that being the underdog should serve as a motivation for BN candidates and machinery to work harder so as to gain the people’s support.
He said BN must repay the confidence and hopes of its supporters by ensuring campaign work is carried out wholeheartedly, not only during the election period but also after successfully forming the state government.
The Election Commission (EC) has set early voting for the Negeri Sembilan State Election on July 28, while polling day will be on August 1.
