Zaliha pledges continued support for Madani agenda after cabinet exit

Former minister Zaliha Mustafa pledges support for the Madani agenda and reform policies, thanking PM Anwar Ibrahim for her tenure and highlighting key achievements.

PUTRAJAYA: Former minister Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa has pledged her continued support for the Madani agenda and the government’s reform policies.

She thanked Prime Minister Datro Seri Anwar Ibrahim for entrusting her with the role of Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories).

“I believe every decision by the Prime Minister was made with careful consideration, prioritising national interest,” she said in a statement.

She wished success to all members of the newly appointed cabinet.

Dr Zaliha also expressed gratitude to the staff of the Federal Territories Department for their commitment during her tenure.

She noted several issues were tackled over two years, including breaking up bazaar cartels that exploited small traders.

She highlighted the success of the Usaha Jaya Insan (PUJI) Programme in eradicating hardcore poverty.

In Labuan, she said economic empowerment was being driven by tourism and improved connectivity.

Dr Zaliha congratulated Hannah Yeoh on her appointment as the new Federal Territories Minister.

She was dropped from the new cabinet line-up announced by Anwar, along with Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar.
