Private sector urged to back Visit Malaysia 2026 with creative initiatives

Tourism Malaysia calls for private sector support through creative initiatives to boost the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign and promote the country globally.

KUALA LUMPUR: The private sector’s involvement is deemed crucial for the success of the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign.

Tourism Malaysia director-general Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim said private support complements government efforts in international tourism promotion.

“Commitments such as this are important to ensure that the national agenda can be driven collectively,” he told reporters after an event here.

He welcomed more companies to support VM2026 through creative initiatives showcasing Malaysia’s identity.

The remarks followed the launch of a VM2026 special edition gold coin by SMS DEEN Jewellers.

SMS DEEN Jewellers CEO Mohamad Shaifudeen said private sector involvement reflects a shared responsibility to promote Malaysia globally.

He added the coin’s design highlights Malaysia’s cultural heritage, cuisine, arts, infrastructure and biodiversity.

The limited edition coin is made of pure 999.9 gold and weighs two grammes.

The VM2026 campaign is envisioned as a catalyst for tourism and economic growth.
